United Healthcare Coverage Availability & Fees
Because this type of United Healthcare plan is different than more traditional policies geared toward adults, the details concerning coverage for CHIP and Medicaid might look something like the following:
Medicaid
- Based on their level of eligibility, patients may pay low or $0 monthly premiums.
- A range of $1,500-$3,500 allowance may be available to cover preventive and comprehensive dental services (i.e., dental fillings, cleanings, root canals, extractions, crowns, etc.).
- Patients may have a $0 copay when requiring generic or brand-name prescriptions.
CHIP
- Most checkups, routine visits, and emergency care are covered.
- CHIP is available to children whose families make too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford to pay the high price of private dental insurance.
- To enroll in CHIP, families may be required to pay an enrollment fee of $50 or less.
- There may be an annual maximum of $500-$600; however, even if this is met, the child can still receive coverage for other medically necessary services.
