MCNA Dental Coverage Availability & Fees
MCNA Dental caters to a younger demographic, which is why it differs from more traditional policies designed for adults. The specifics regarding coverage for Medicaid and CHIP may look something like this:
Medicaid
- Depending on their eligibility level, patients might have low or $0 monthly premiums.
- A varying allowance of $1,500 to $3,500 may be available to cover preventive and comprehensive dental services such as fillings, cleanings, root canals, extractions, crowns, etc.
- Patients may have a $0 copay for generic or brand-name prescriptions.
CHIP
- Most checkups, regular visits, and emergency care are included in the coverage.
- CHIP is an option for children from families with incomes that exceed Medicaid eligibility but cannot afford the costs of private dental insurance.
- Enrolling in CHIP may involve a modest enrollment fee, typically $50 or less.
- While there could be an annual maximum of $500 to $600, exceeding this limit doesn't necessarily mean a loss of coverage for other essential medical services for the child.
Your dental plan is designed to stop common oral health issues from occurring. This prevents needing a costly
treatment later to save money down the road. Research shows you can save up to $50 on restorative and emergency fees
for every $1 spent on prevention.
Besides safeguarding your smile, you can also use your insurance to treat any dental problems quickly without having
to worry about a large bill. After reaching your deductible, you can use your insurance to offset the amount
you’ll pay using your annual allowance.
Your dental insurance in DeSoto will reset at the end of the calendar year. Anything you don’t use won’t
accumulate, and you won’t be reimbursed for your premiums or deductible. On average, only 2.8% of Americans
meet or exceed their annual limits.
We don’t want to see you throw money down the drain. Delta Dental recommends choosing a dentist in their
network because you’ll benefit from more coverage at the time of services. You can still use your benefits at
an out-of-network dentist, but you’ll have to pay the difference between the dentist’s fees and your
insurance’s allowable coverage. We work with both in-network and out-of-network patients to keep our services
affordable.
