For Dr. Najjar, Dr. Le, and our entire team here at Amaze Dental, our mission is to help patients of all ages enjoy healthy, happy smiles. Since children are particularly vulnerable to tooth decay due to their novice dental care habits, bi-yearly preventive dentistry visits to our office are crucial to keep their oral health in tip-top shape. That’s why we go the extra mile to make dentistry the compassionate, positive (even enjoyable!) experience it should be, whether your child is coming in for their first visit or their last checkup before heading off to college. To ensure your child feels completely comfortable and at ease, their first visit will be focused on familiarizing them with our team and our office. After all, being in a new environment and having a bunch of strangers with unfamiliar tools take a look at their teeth can be a bit overwhelming! Instead, we will focus on building a genuine relationship with your child, normalizing all of the sights and sounds, and explaining the importance of taking care of their teeth and gums. We want every experience with our team to be a happy one, so your child genuinely looks forward to their next visit!
Once it’s time for your child to get into the treatment chair, we will conduct a thorough checkup, which includes a tooth-by-tooth inspection and periodontal exam. At this time, we will be looking for proper development and any dental concerns, like cavities. During the cleaning portion of their visit, our team will gently remove built-up plaque and tartar to prevent issues like gum disease from developing. We will also use this appointment to teach you and your child proper oral hygiene techniques, such as how to properly brush and floss to keep their teeth decay-free!
Fluoride is a natural mineral that is included in city drinking water and most toothpaste brands to help ward off decay. To fortify your child’s enamel, our team can apply a small amount of fluoride at their six-month dental checkup and cleaning. Although this treatment only takes a few minutes to complete, it will provide your child with an additional layer of protection against tooth decay and cavities.
As your little one’s fine motor skills develop, they will become more and more proficient at brushing their teeth properly. Until then, some of their molars and premolars may get neglected, significantly increasing their risk of tooth decay. Fortunately, our team has a solution: dental sealants. By applying a thin, protective layer of their back teeth, we can help block out harmful, enamel-eroding bacteria throughout the years.
